The Book of ... Cooking Series

icon A great introduction to various regional cuisines of the world in over 50 installments.

This series's installments aren't all-encompassing, but they're all written by experienced cooks and cook book writers, and generally contain easy to follow, well-explained recipes, as well as photos illustrating the various steps of the individual recipes' preparation. They generally start with a brief introduction into the basics of the cuisine portrayed, the necessary equipment and utensils and a glossary of ingredients. Recipes are grouped by courses (appetizers, soups, sauces, salads, vegetables, rice, potatoes, fish and shellfish, poultry, (red) meat, desserts, drinks, etc.). The series's individual installments complement each other well, and they're also a great complement to the cuisines represented in the Around the World Cookbook.
